QAS 2024 Information
We are launching systems! Quiet Adventures Symposium 2024 is moving forward. Saturday, March 2, 2024 is the date and the MSU Pavilion (4301 Farm Lane, Lansing, MI) is the place.
For those new the the Quiet Adventures Symposium, This is a space for learning about adventures and environmental aspects, all centered around quiet non-motorized activities. The number of attendees reaches 1500-2000, depending on Michigan weather, of course. Some of the best adventure experts come and speak on Isle Royale and the Keewanaw Peninsula, the Boundary Water Canoe Area, the North Country Trail running across the US. Check out last year's program to get a sense of the breadth of the event. Many exhibitors will bring books on camping, paddling (canoe, SUP and kayak), bicycling, sailing, and more. There are guides and outfitters to help you identify fun for the spring and summer, complete with trail maps. Try your hand at fly fishing and other skills. Many local conservation and advocacy groups are there, with informative and interesting booths. If we are lucky LeValley outdoors will bring their axes, hatchets, knives and more. Thanks to MSU Extension 4-H, there is a Youth Area for youth to enjoy and learn new things, maybe sit in a kayak for the first time (on the floor, not on the water). If we are lucky maybe an owl or two. of course, this is a great winter place to connect with old friends, make new ones, share similar interests in the incredible outdoors of Michigan, the Great Lakes region, and beyond. The Symposium is hosted by the nonprofit Quiet Adventures Society (formerly the Quiet Water Society) and this is the 29th year.
Check out the pages for Exhibitor Registration and Speaker/Demonstration Proposals. This year we will have QAS Demonstration Stages for special demonstrations. We shall see what our people develop. How to pack a sea kayak for a 5 day trip in the Apostle Islands? What is in well-packed backpack for a week along the North Country Trail? The best ways to dress for cold water fishing and paddling? We will keep you posted.
There are also lots of opportunities for helping to sponsor this event. We thank Williams Subaru for their continued support as show sponsors. See the options listed in our Exhibitor Sponsor Bulletin. Sponsor a room? Advertise in the Program Brochure? So many options. We also encourage exhibitors to contribute items to the Door and Grand Prize Raffles.
